Position Type: Full-Time, 37.5-40 hours per week
Caseload: High school - 1:1

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Johnston City. As an interpreter, you will work closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing to facilitate communication, promote understanding, and support learning in an inclusive school setting.

• Provide interpreting services for students during classes, school activities, and other school-related events
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support student participation and engagement
• Foster a supportive environment that promotes learning, independence, and self-advocacy for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Adapt interpreting methods to meet the needs of individual students based on their grade level and abilities
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with district policies and regulations
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required

• Completion of an accredited interpreter training program.
• Certification in Sign Language Interpreting (EIPA certification)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a strong understanding of deaf culture.
• Previous experience working in an educational setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to student success.
