Job Description
The ideal candidate possesses solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment. In this role, the position will work closely with all BIS departments as well as the corporate finance team.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
Assist with monthly rebate process.
Assist with monthly freight billings.
Produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and reports.
Monitor and perform inventory adjustments due to shipping, receiving and/or pricing errors by issuing credits or adjusting inventory layers in coordination with our China office. Also communicate with overseas manufacturers regarding payment and billing issues.
Setup and maintain A/P vendors as it relates to new vendors and banking information for EFT/ACH payments.
Invoices – Ensure each invoice is audited and then approved. Determine the proper general ledger coding and all pertinent information needed to include in the payment process.
Perform additional duties as requested by management.
Requirements:
Degree in accounting, finance, or related field strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting policies and bookkeeping procedures and controls.
Advanced proficiency within Excel required. AS400 experience desirable.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with significant business volumes.
Analytical and forward-thinking skills are required.
Possess the ability to work independently and as a team player.
Must be detailed oriented.
