About Hedra:

Hedra is a pioneering video foundation model company founded by former Stanford PhDs and backed by top investors at Index, A16Z, and Abstract Ventures. We're building a full-stack creation studio capable of control, emotion, and creative intelligence.

We raised 10 million dollars in our seed round to revolutionize content creation. Our flagship product, the Character foundation model, launched in late June and garnered national attention, landing us on the top of Reddit (multiple times!) and Twitter. In early October we released Character-2, which has already produced highly creative and viral content.

Note: At Hedra, we're a team of hard-working, passionate individuals seeking to fundamentally change content and build a generational company together. You should have start-up experience and be a self-starter that is driven to build impactful products that change the status quo. You must be willing to work in-person in either NYC or SF.

Summary:

As our frontend engineer, you will build a next-generation interface for controllable generative video generation. The systems you design and implement will determine the moment-to-moment responsiveness of the software, and with it the enjoyment and productivity of our users.

You will work with passionate engineers and top researchers to build a truly disruptive and novel technology. We're looking for full-time hires, ideally you will you join us at our office in San Francisco or New York.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

• 3+ years of professional Typescript and React.
• Greenfielded or contributed foundationally to a performant video editor.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with webcodecs or ffmpeg.wasm.
• Tailwind and Next.js proficiency
• Experience with web authorization/authentication

Personality:

• Self-motivated and independent - able to set accurate timelines for development and deliver on them. Have an opinion and the experience to backup that opinion.
• Passionate about writing clean, performant code, but understand that perfect is the enemy of the good (and prompt).
• Mission-driven - we are building something fundamentally disruptive and this reflects deeply in our company DNA.
• And most importantly, treat Hedra as your own and help shape the vision accordingly
