Job Overview:
As an Equipment Rental and Sales Counter Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, helping to guide them through our inventory of products and services. You will provide expert advice, assist with rental agreements, and ensure a smooth transaction and customer experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and in-depth knowledge of our equipment and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Process rental and sales transactions efficiently.
  • Explain rental terms, pricing, and equipment usage instructions clearly to customers.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding equipment specifications, availability, and pricing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new and existing products and services.
  • Handle reservations, contracts, and payments using point-of-sale software.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on rental equipment to ensure they are rent-ready.
  • Coordinate with the service department to resolve any equipment issues.
  • Follow up with customers to encourage repeat business and gather feedback.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the sales counter and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in related fields is a plus.
  • Proven customer service experience, ideally in retail, rental, or sales environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn product details and specific usage guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale systems.
  • Physical ability to manage inventory and equipment, including lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of the equipment rental industry is preferred but not required.
