Job Summary The Congressional Lobbyist is a congressional affairs position within the Division of Government and Public Affairs and is located in Washington, DC. Incumbent shall be responsible for advocating legislative priorities of the Association.
Must Have: - Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of five years' experience as Lobbyist or as a Congressional or political party staff person
- Experience developing and implementing legislative, lobbying, and political strategies
- In-depth knowledge of Congress and the legislative process
- Hill experience with particular knowledge of major Congressional health committees, health associations and federal health care issues
- Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communications and analytical skills
- Established relationships with Members of Congress and their staff
- Ability to respond to legislative changes, development of alternative legislative approaches and political developments, strategies and tactical planning
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Evenings/weekends for work/meetings and occasional travel
Nice to Have: - Advanced degree (e.g. Law degree, Master's degree, etc.)
- Experience with Teams and Online Congressional Directory, e.g. Politico
