Job Description
As a cashier at our beauty supply store, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently processing transactions. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our patrons and contributing to the overall success of our store.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Customer Service:**
- Greet customers with a friendly demeanor as they enter the store.
- Assist customers in locating products and provide recommendations as needed.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering attentive and personalized service.
2. **Cash Handling:**
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with precision and integrity.
- Calculate and provide change to customers as necessary.
- Maintain cash register drawers and reconcile cash balances at the end of each shift.
3. **Product Knowledge:**
- Develop a thorough understanding of the products sold in the store, including beauty supplies, cosmetics, skincare, and haircare products.
- Stay informed about new arrivals, promotions, and special offers to effectively communicate with customers.
- Provide product information and usage tips to customers to enhance their shopping experience.
4. **Merchandising and Inventory Management:**
- Assist with restocking shelves and organizing merchandise displays to ensure a visually appealing store layout.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock or replenishment needs to the management team.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and assist with inventory reconciliation processes.
5. **Store Maintenance:**
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the store, including cashier stations, aisles, and checkout areas.
- Ensure all products are properly labeled and priced, with accurate signage displayed.
- Adhere to store policies and procedures, including safety protocols and cash handling guidelines.
**Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in retail or customer service roles preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for providing excellent customer service.
- Proficiency in cash handling and basic math skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge or interest in beauty products and trends is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for operating cash registers and handling merchandise.
- Comfortable working in a retail environment with moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.
