Job Title: Azure Data Engineer (ONSITE)

Work Location: Schaumburg - IL

Job summary: As a Data Engineer, person in this role will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data solutions using Azure Data Lake Store. This involves developing and deploying data pipelines and workflows using Databricks Workflows and PySpark. This role will oversee the entire development and deployment process to ensure that data pipelines and workflows are efficient and effective. Additionally, person in this role will use Python and Databricks SQL to develop and optimize data processing scripts, ensuring that data is processed accurately and efficiently.

The key responsibilities will include:

• Design and Implementation : Design and implement scalable data solutions using Azure Data Lake Store, ensuring that the solutions are robust and can handle large volumes of data.
• Development and Deployment : Develop and deploy data pipelines and workflows using Databricks Workflows and PySpark. This includes writing code, testing, and deploying the pipelines to production.
• Oversight : Oversee the development and deployment of data pipelines and workflows, ensuring that they are running smoothly and efficiently. This includes monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and making improvements as needed.
• Optimization : Use Python and Databricks SQL to develop and optimize data processing scripts. This involves writing efficient code, optimizing queries, and ensuring that data is processed quickly and accurately.

Qualifications

• Possess a strong background in Azure Data Lake Store Azure DevOps Python Databricks SQL Databricks Workflows and PySpark.
• Prior experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain.
• Hold a relevant certification in Azure or related technologies.
• Display a proactive approach to learning and staying updated with industry trends.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that drive business value.

Certifications Required

* Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until 1/10/2024.

The annual salary for this position is between $70,000 - $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
