Our client, a leading research university, is seeking an experienced AR professional to assist with invoicing for their research grants and sponsorships department.

Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Type : W2 Contract - Fully Remote
Shift : Mon-Fri 8 am to 4:30 OR 7 am to 3 pm.
Department: Office of Sponsored Financial Reporting (SFR)
Pay : $25-30/Hr.

Position Overview:
The Office of Sponsored Financial Reporting (SFR) is seeking a Financial Professional II to take charge of preparing and submitting invoices and financial reports per sponsored award and contract terms. This role requires consistent communication with sponsors and various university departments to ensure that all financial obligations are met.

Required Qualifications :

  • BA/BS Degree and at least 2 years of professional work experience
  • Or a combination of education and experience to equal 6 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and understands the importance of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting
  • Experience with MS Excel

Duties / Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting & Invoicing (80 – 90%)
  • Independently work assigned account list of sponsored awards
  • Prioritize workload, by due dates and complexity, to complete financial reports and invoices to be submitted to Sponsors
  • Evaluate expense transactions for inclusion on financial reports and invoices
  • Use data downloads to gather and report detailed information per Sponsor’s requirements
  • Ensure that financial reports and invoices are submitted by the Sponsor’s deadline
  • Revise financial reports and invoices as needed
  • Daily communication with internal and external customers to complete financial reports and invoices, resolve issues and respond to inquiries. Prioritize follow up based on risk to the University.
  • Process journal entries and adjust budgets to ensure compliance with policies
  • Store all documentation in imaging system
  • Audit documentation pull
  1. Complete other accounting and financial duties/special projects as assigned (10%)
