Accounting Manager (Remote)

A company in Montgomery County, MD is seeking a self-motivated individual, an independent thinker, and highly energetic. This is a senior position and candidates must have experience in managing projects and staff, be savvy technology users, and be quick learners of trends. This position will be fully remote and the salary range is $130-160k, commensurate with experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee account managers and outsourced teams.
  • Respond to client inquiries.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of client deliverables.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports to clients.
  • Assist with client’s annual audit work and liaising with client auditors.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Lead client engagements and manage a team’ workflows to complete client deliverables.
  • Foster client relationships through the preparation of timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Meet with Client team to refine processes, discuss and analyze the financial deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of new or improved accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff as required or assigned.
  • Contribute ideas towards the efficiency of the Company

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Accounting.
  • CPA required
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Nonprofit experience required
  • Supervisory experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting environment
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
  • Ability to prepare supporting schedules for audit purposes and balance sheet accounts.
  • Leadership skills - ability to manage and delegate (small team)
  • Grant management and reporting experience preferred.
  • QuickBooks, Excel, Microsoft Office, Sage Intacct (if possible)
  • Ability to work with multiple clients at once.
